The community matron is based at the surgery who can be contacted via reception. community matrons were introduced in 2004 by the government. At Baslow, the community matron has become a very important part of the primary care team in identifying those with complex medical needs who are sometimes struggling to remain independent and to identify the extra support that may be needed and keep in regular contact.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Health Visitors can be contacted by calling reception and leaving a message.
Dispensary staff are able to take telephone enquiries between 12:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 15:00 on 01246 582366. This ensures that they are not disturbed during busy morning and afternoon surgeries. Outside of these times a message can be left and, if an emergency, a member of the dispensary will call you back when free. Please telephone on 01246 582216 to leave an urgent message.
