Nurses

Our practice nurses and health care assistant see patients by appointment and all appointments can be booked in advance. You will be offered an appointment with the most appropriate member of the team. They are involved in screening programmes as well as taking blood samples, ear syringing, routine blood pressure checks, undertaking cardiograms, spirometry, disease management, travel advice, contraceptive advice and cervical smears.

They can offer advice on numerous health topics.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
