All GP appointments are currently by telephone in the first instance. The GP will then ask you to come into surgery if necessary. This is to protect you from the risk of COVID-19 and is in line with current national guidance for practices.
A large number of queries and conditions can be managed either by telephone or using video consultations. However if you do need to be seen, an assessment by an allied health professional (eg physiotherapist or district nurse) may be more appropriate for your problem and will ultimately reduce the number of face to face contacts needed.
Please be reassured that we are still open and working incredibly hard to keep pace with the significant demand to offer advice and assess medical problems. The pandemic means that we have had to adapt the way we deliver this and we thank you for your patience. We are conscious that this has been a big shift and we are continually reviewing our services as the situation moves forward.
