Letter To Our Patients

Dear patients and friends,

Several people have asked me, and asked the staff, about my speech.

Back in April 2020 I, like many people, contracted Covid. I recovered quickly but it has left me with dysarthria which is a speech disorder. This means my speech may sound rather slurred at times. I also have a slight facial palsy from Covid which causes further difficulty in speaking.

Please be assured I am entirely well but want to be honest and open and save any embarrassment for you in wondering why my speech is, at times, difficult to understand.

I do not want sympathy but if you have difficulty understanding me please ask me to repeat.

Thank you for your time and understanding. Assuring you of our best attentions at Baslow Health Centre at all times.

Best wishes,

Louise Jordan
